Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey

"Cycling" Tour of Turkey?? If not for the UCI badge, one would take this to be an event designed for the recreational cyclist. At any rate, it's actually a prestigious stage race and word on the street is that it's going to be televised on TRT in 2008. Yours truly is working hard in the coming weeks to establish communications with the Turkish Federation and with the race organizers so that I can compete. I either need to put my own team together or be invited as a guest on another team.

"Tour of Turkey"? More like "Tour of a bit of the Aegean and some of the Med".

Hope you can make it though Murat

My comment is not related to this post, however, it's very important. I just read about the arrests in Turkey. I hope that you will chose to start a discussion on it. This could be a new day for Turkey, new beginning.

Turkey is considering selling weapons to Sudan, a country currently being accused by the US government of committing a Genocide!! Why doesn't that surprise me? Doesn't anyone in the Turkish government/military have 1/2 a brain?

I think this Cycling Event has the potential to show the beauties and cultural richness of Turkey in combination with world class sports. It was definitely time for such an event to be staged. Furthermore the TV production is supposed to be be done in High Definition quality and many TVC station will broadcast it live.
